Effective Communication Across Lines of Difference

We work in an increasingly global society where diversity can be experienced in multiple dimensions. Our workplaces can have a wide range of employee backgrounds, identities, and ideologies. This session shows you how to

• communicate effectively across lines of difference
• engage in challenging conversations effectively
• set norms during group discussions and meetings to ensure civility and equity.

 You will discuss the value of empathetic listening, how to establish mutual respect, and how to use “meta-conversation” tools to diffuse tension and community.
