Gateway Foundation welcomes new board chair

Florence, Ky. (Feb. 13, 2018) —Gateway Community & Technical College Foundation Board of Directors welcomed a new Board Chair, Steve Brunson, during their February 1 meeting. Brunson is a senior vice president of Forcht Bank in Northern Kentucky.

"I'm excited about working with Mr. Brunson," said Dr. Fernando Figueroa, Gateway Community & Technical College president. “I know the Foundation will continue to thrive under his leadership.”

Brunson has over 26 years of banking experience in a variety of roles, and is an active member of the Northern Kentucky community with such groups as the Covington Business Council, Northern Kentucky Home Builders Association, and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. He was born and raised in Northern Kentucky, where he resides with his wife, Dr. Kelly Brunson; and three children: Clair, Paige and David. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.

The chair position became available after Jim Parsons fulfilled his term as chair. Parsons served as chair for three years.

“On behalf of the Gateway Board, we want to thank you. Jim has done a terrific job, and I want to commend the Foundation. Without the Foundation, we wouldn’t be as strong as we are,” said Ken Paul, Chair, Gateway Community & Technical College Board of Directors.

Brunson previously served as the Foundation Board Treasurer. That position has been filled by Beth Vice Cross. Vice Cross works at VonLehman CPA & Advisory Firm as Shareholder and CPA. Her accounting experience and non-profit focus will be instrumental in her new leadership position within the Gateway Foundation Board.
